Product description
Ultralight and thin single rope with triple certification
The Opera 8.5 mm from Beal is one of the lightest and thinnest single ropes on the market coming in at only 48 grams per metre. It’s the first to weigh under 50 g/m. Its triple certification allows you to use it as a half and twin rope. When creating this rope, Beal combined all its know-how and the best technologies. This resulted in a rope with a low impact force and a unique handling. The UNICORE technology prevents sheath slippage and adds safety in case the sheath gets damaged. In addition, there is a durable Dry Cover sheath coating that protects the rope against dust and dirt. This also delays the wear.
Important: if you will be using it as a single rope, experience and skill are required due to the low diameter. The rope is therefore not intended for beginners!
Lifetime and avoidance of tangling
Beal ropes have a service life of maximum 15 years from the date of manufacturing (5 years storage + 10 years use). Depending on the frequency of use or damage, the service life will be reduced.
With the Magic Pack, the rope can be unwound optimally before it is first used in order to avoid tangling later on. By deliberately pulling the rope through it before use, the rope is also given a good stretch, which further helps to prevent tangling.
The advantages at a glance:
- Approved as a single, half and twin rope
- For experienced climbers
- Ultralight and thin
- UNICORE technology provides more safety if the sheath is damaged
