The AKU Alterra GTX is an extremely versatile walking boot for medium difficulty and mixed terrain. It is perfect for both the soft forest floor as well as rocky terrain. The mid-high shaft and the PU-reinforced Vibram outsole will provide additional stability when you have a heavier pack and are making your way through more difficult terrain. The suede upper and the breathable GORE-TEX lining make for an incredibly comfortable boot. The AKU Elica technology will ensure an excellent load distribution over the sole of your foot and support your natural foot roll as well. All this makes the Alterra GTX a very comfortable walking boot for trekking tours of moderate difficulty.

These are the most comfortable boots I have worn. The fit is excellent , I border between 11.5 and 12 with narrow ankles and wider front. I will probably reserve these for Spring Summer use and switch back to my full leather boots in the winter, just to keep the Akus looking great for maximum time.
