Nice design but not enough support in the sole

These look nice but the sole is too thin eg I can feel sharp bits of gravel etc through the bottom of the boot. Also quite a loose fit.

I don't know which size guide to folow

These are both for men and women, but I don't know which size guide to use,confused. I bought size 40,the insole is 26 cm. Otherwise they are comfortable and look nice.
