Product description
An all-rounder for alpine terrain – the Mont Blanc GTX by Scarpa! These mountaineering boots impress with comfort, warmth and practical technical details. The upper material is mainly made of leather. At the back of the shoe, the leather is reinforced with high-strength synthetic material. The flex point provides maximum freedom of movement so that the foot is not restricted. The shoes are not only waterproof but also breathable thanks to GORE-TEX. The shoes also feature great warmth insulation so you can keep enjoying the mountain even in low temperatures.
The robust shoes boast a Vibram Mont outsole that guarantees secure grip on any surface. Combined with the special midsole available in different thicknesses, this ensures your gait is pleasantly cushioned and no energy is lost. The midsole provides optimal shock absorption and durability. The practical fast lacing allows the fit to be adjusted to your individual needs. Eyelets in the lower part of the shoe allow you to adjust the laces smoothly, while hooks in the upper part provide more stability. Crampons can also be quickly attached. An all-rounder for alpinists!

This is what other customers say:
Hi Eric, This boot is suitable for fairly high altitude mountaineering , up to about 5,000m or so. They are extremely stiff and not suitable for regular walking but will be warm enough for use in snow. For use on ice, just like any other boot they will need a crampon to provide the grip that is needed. What are you looking for exactly?
I have Zamberlan leather walking boots but looking for a winter walking boot suitable for snow & ice and crampons
Ah! Ok! Then these will be ideal and you can choose any crampon binding you wish. Strap-on , semi-automatic or fully automatic!
But you mentioned they were extremely stiff, are they suitable for walking?
Yes, they are stiff which is necessary for the purpose of the boot. If you're looking for a more general winter mountaineering boot, perhaps the Scarpa Manta Tech would be a better choice?

These would have been brilliant boots, I am sure. The quality is excellent and they are nice and sturdy. I unfortunately had to return them. I normally wear a 42.5 in hiking boots and ordered this size but they were at least a full size too small, 43.5 would have been better. Check your recommended size in the finder before purchasing!

Hi Bogdan,
These will have a regular fit. Best to have a look at boots from Hanwag or Mammut for the wider fit you need.
