Waterproof walking boots for technical trails and via ferrata - the Wildfire GTX from Salewa climbs like a champ and provides just the right amount of cushioning. The grippy Pomoca Speed MTN sole comes complete with a climbing zone at the toe for precise placements on small footholds. That way, the approach to your favourite crag or short climbing sections on a via ferrata won't be an issue. The sole was designed specifically for climbing precision on rocky trails in alpine terrain. The typical climbing shoe lacing, which goes all the way up to the forefoot area helps to provide a snug fit, greater precision and surefootedness in technical terrain. The mesh upper and GORE-TEX lining will keep your feet feeling fresh and dry, while the breathable membrane keeps both continuous rain showers at bay. Thanks to the 3F system, the Wildfire GTX fits like a charm at the heel as well!

I have used these shoes for some years and I have climbed various Scottish Munros in them during the warmer months of the year when I was unable to wear boots due to Achilles problems. I was surprised at their capability in rough terrain although I would avoid using them in deep mud and on scree slopes. They have been surprisingly durable. Best walking shoes that I have!
