Product description
Up we go!No problem with the Salewa MS Vultur Vertical GTX! These robust trekking boots are as versatile as they are athletic. They come with an integrated gaiter, crampon-compatible soles and a very scuff-resistant and naturally waterproof upper material. The colorful sole of this stylish shoe is made up of three components: A stiff insole of polyamide and fiberglass protects the foot from jarring while still supporting the arch's flexibility. A cushioning midsole made of EVA takes on the added weight of backpack and equipment, cushioning well on rubble and hard chunks of ice. At the heel and toe, reinforced edges allow for the attachment of crampons with a heel lever such as those used for ice climbing (and, of course, the simpler variations as well). The last layer of the third part of the three-part sole construction is a Vibram outsole with a deep-lugged tread, entirely warp resistant. It gives equally good purchase on ice, snow, rubble and mud as well as on steep slopes. The sole wraps over a band of liner tape running around the shoe that serves as a rock guard. On the body, Salewa uses shagreen and an extremely robust super-fabric of its own manufacturing - a Cordura-like, light but very sturdy polyamide textile. The high shaft transitions into a gaiter that can be closed against heat loss or snow and pebbles entering the shoe. The tongue is shaped to overlap flatly, preventing water and dirt from seeping in while avoiding pressure on the foot. The lacing, which reaches very high up, is slightly asymmetrical and uses the Salewa 3F-System to connect the heel and vamp when lacing. The MS Vultur Vertical GTX is warm shoe exceptionally well suited to crampon mountaineering, ice climbing or crossing snowfields and glaciers. It can, of course, be re-soled as needed; combined with the sturdy upper material, the MS Vultur Vertical GTX promises to accompany you into the mountains dependably for many years to come.
