I really struggle to find shoes that fit well, being a wide size 13, the choice is limited. I've worn Merrell for many years (15+) but found the quality really lagging. I tried on some Salewa in a small boot shop in the Lake District and really liked them, as the 'Alpline Fit' is nice and wide, and whilst the 12 i tried on was too small, the width was great. I found these on Alpine Trek, and they really fit the bill, as I also didn't want goretex lining, which is obviously very fashionable as nearly every shoe has it! First impressions are great, very comfortable, superb grip as you'd expect from Vibram, and appear to be top notch quality too!

Is the blue Alp Trainer 2 a men’s or women’s specific shoe
Hi Desmond,
The Alp Trainer 2 is a men's shoe. Please see the link below to view the women's version of the shoes:

I find the GTX mountain trainer too rigid for my arthritic ankle and need the flexibility of the mountain trainer lite. Are these comparable on flexible?
Hi Barrie,
These are not the GTX model . The following are:

In terms of flexibility / stiffness , these will feel fairly similar to your Mountain Lite GTX.
