Product description
For the first time, we are combining Merino wool with locally obtained SWISSWOOL to create the new SWISSWOOLHYBRID line. The results are garments with individualized functionality adapted to the various heat zones of the body!WOOL TYPESSWISSWOOL is synonymous with regional sourcing and fairness at every step in the supply chain. The wool is exclusively of Swiss origin and is currently collected at 22 collection stations, including remote Alpine valleys. In 2011, regional farmers delivered 400 metric tons of wool per year. This material, which was transported utilizing the most efficient routes of transport, was then processed into fleece layers within Europe. The resulting product is the ideal insulating material for our mountain clothing.MERINO WOOL is characterized by a very small fiber diameter (18 microns). Because of their fineness, merino wool fibers can be worn directly against the skin without causing a scratchy sensation. Both wool types are outstanding functional fibers. They have the ability toabsorb large volumes of moisture (>30% their own weight) without feeling wet. The fibers direct moisture into the core and then slowly release it to the outside environment. In addition, wool helps regulate temperature and gets rid of unpleasant odors.THE MIXTUREOur new SWISSWOOL HYBRID collection features SWISSWOOL inserts (60 g/m²) at cold sensitive locations on the body, such as the stomach zone on jackets. The fibers are packaged in windproof and water-resistant ripstop nylon, giving the wearer the best possible protection. Parts of the body that are constantly in motion and therefore less sensitive to cold are insulated with mixed fibers of merino wool and polyamide/polyester. In these areas, high functionality and wear comfort are more important than just retention of heat. On the HYBRID JACKET, we've applied MERINO FLEECE, which excels in terms of breathability and elasticity.THE FEATURESWe developed the SWISSWOOL HYBRID line for people who enjoy ski touring even on very cold days. The products are technically advanced and have a very ergonomic cut. The (SW) HYBRID JACKET is also ergonomically cut and has an attractive, clean design. Thumb loops provide a flawless fit and ensure the pulse area is protected, while the high-cut collar keeps the neck warm. A bonded upper arm pocket and two front pockets provide plenty of room for storage.
