Hello AJ, I've used the compression bag addition - if you're planning on leaving it in place all the time, probably okay. But I found in taking the bag on/off a few times, I discovered the cord material loops that the elastic attaching ''string'' runs through wears. I haven't worn through one of the loops completely, but one of them is very, very thin now. I might get around to doing a DIY repair eventually - simple enough - and I'm also looking at the 5 / 15 litre options. Other than that, I do highly recommend the OMM options. Hope that helps
