Product description
A great pad with loads of features - the Paddy Dominator from Ocun! This burrito-style crash pad consists of two halves that can be zipped together. Plus, you can also connect it on the short side, giving you a two-metre long pad if necessary.
The Paddy Dominator is filled with two layers of foam: one two-centimetre thick layer of PE foam complemented by an eleven-centimetre thick layer of patented FTS Absorption Block foam. This provides efficient absorption of the energy of a fall, even at the edges of the pad, making it suitable for highballs! Another advantage of the FTS foam is its low weight. This along with the breathable WeBee carrying straps makes transporting the pad a doddle.
If you prefer, you can transport the pad using the handle on the side. The super-tough material used for the pad makes it durable and less susceptible to rough surfaces. The two hook-and-loop straps prevent the pad opening on its own, while the rubber handles make it easy to drag. Of course, you can use it has a small sofa during your breaks and use the mat, which can be stowed away in the pad, to clean your shoes before you start.

Got back into bouldering over the last few months and realised my old pad had seen better days. Needed one for the "Lockdown Woodie" training so I splashed out on the Dominator and I'm very happy with the purchase. A friend had one and I was impressed how light it was, despite its fairly large footprint. It's also thicker than most other mats at a similar price point.
Perhaps the best design feature is the ability to unzip the long-side 'hinge' and have it hinged on the short sides, thereby creating a very long, skinny pad. I've already used this format surprisingly often. The shoulder straps are nice and comfy and it's easy to stuff items in the open topped 'pouch', secure in the knowledge they can't slip out the bottom. Delivery was even quicker than suggested and even during lockdown it came within a couple of days.
Overall, I've found this a really decent pad and have no complaints - good value for money.
