white marks

i have worn these in the rain and wet and now there are white marks left on the material. anyone know what this is and how to remove it?

Looked long and hard for this shoe

Mammut shoes are unavailable here. I picked this new model, having had others knowing it was a quality product that it would fit well.
It is and does.
