Product description
Only safes are safer - the Clepsydra K10G by Grivel! This HMS carabiner is specifically designed for belaying purposes. The integrated Twin Gate closure is equipped with two all-aluminum gates that are mounted contrary to each other. This system makes the carabiner as safe as can be and keeps it from opening by accident. The carabiner will remain closed in any case. The wire bar serves as an additional means of protection. It prevents the carabiner from getting caught up in the tie-in loop and therefore eliminates the risk of dangerous transverse loads. Moreover, the high breaking load of the carabiner ensure maximum safety at extremely low weight. All these features considered, the Clepsydra K10G by Grivel makes your equipment lighter and your climbing tours safer!

01.03.2017No good for a Grigri II
I can see where the designer was coming from with the twin gate mechanism but this Karabiner cannot be used with a few belay devices, notably the Petzl Grigri II - you simply can't get the Grigri over the gate unless you really persevere and twist it through at just the right angle!
I could return the product but I think I'll come to like the twin gate mechanism for use with a normal belay plate but even then its probably better suited to use at an indoor wall (its unlikely to get used outdoors especially on multi-pitch trad routes).
