In the summer of 1973 two students named Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley manufactured their very first down vest in their hall of residence. As they were preparing themselves for their trip to Alaska, they were surprised by the lack of functional clothing on the market, which is what pushed them to start Marmot Mountain Works one year later. The company's high-quality functional clothing, sleeping bags and tents are now sold in more than 40 countries worldwide.
