ZQRX
ZQRX is an international standard for wool based on regenerative agriculture that sets requirements for animal welfare, environmental protection and social responsibility. It applies to clothing, home textiles, accessories, fibres, yarns and fabrics made from merino wool. The criteria include compliance with the ‘Five Freedoms’ of animal welfare, protection of soil, water and biodiversity, and measures to reduce emissions and promote regenerative practices. ZQRX goes beyond pure sustainability and pursues the goal of continuous improvement, for example through ecosystem restoration, protection of native species and CO₂ reduction. In addition, there are requirements for fair working conditions and traceability back to the farm. Compliance is verified through independent audits and an index system that measures progress in the areas of the environment, animal welfare and social responsibility.
