Hi there, I'm looking for a pair of hiking boots that are versatile to hike in the Lake District and Dolomites and I thought this pair would be good, but I wonder about the comment below that these boots were not robust enough for Snowdon.

The likes of Snowdon offers a completely different / rougher hiking experience to either the Dolomites or Lake didtrict where in both areas you'll be sticking to well troden paths.
For Snowdon I would prefer to suggest a boot with a full leather upper which will be easy to maintain and keep in good condition. Boots in that category also tend to offer more stability and support.
The most important thing when it comes to boots is that they fit you well no matter what the boot may be.
My partner needs new boots as the ones we walked Snowden in this year were too small and killed her toes on the way down- would these be a good choice or is there a better option?

Looking for a sturdy pair of new boots and have been told to look for vibram soles. Really like this design of boot but wondering how flexible the sole is
Hi Jennifer, It's not just a sole unit affects the flex of a sole, the mid sole needs to be taken into account also. You'd mentioned sturdy , which I also would assume that you mean fairly stiff. If that's the case I think it best for you to have a look at the Hanwag Tatra II Lady as a good possible option.

I think these will be a little too flexible but you could get away with them , the only issue (going by your email and your existing Salomon boots) is that they will likely be too narrow for your needs.
