Salewa - Alpinist Combi - Crampons tested

I bought these Salewa crampons to go with my new Salewa Ortles Ascent boots. They fit very well, although can take a while to fit while on the mountain due to the snuggness of the rear metal lugs to the boot heel. Once secured though the crampons work very well and coped admirably with the 6 day 4000ers summer alpine course (mainly glaciers & 45 degree snow slopes)in Switzerland including, summitted the Weisshorn (4015m). The crampons are lighter than my other pair, and have an adjustable wheel to get exactly the correct tension in the heel. I also like the strap adjustment which eliminates the 'excessively long strap' problem that could cause tripping.
