Reviews overview
This is what customers from around the world say:
I'm a big fan of Patagonia, and I was pretty disappointed in this parka.
On the plus side, it's very well made, waterproof, and breathable. It looks to have just the right amount of insolation for +5 to -5 weather. (Completely subjective, of course)
On the negative side, it runs at least a full size large. I have two other Patagonia jackets in the same size that fit perfectly, and I felt like a little kid trying on my father's jacket in the same size Windshadow.
It also feels unfinished. There's no way to adjust the hood. There are drawstrings, but no way keep them tight. You pull them and they just instantly loosen up. Two of those little plastic things you squeeze and pull the drawstrings through to hold them tight would have solved the problem.
The cuffs are also wide, and there are only two metal snaps to close them. Any cold wind or heavy rain seems like it would go right up the sleeves unless one of those two snaps was your exact size.
The pockets aren't lined for warmth. Just little things like this throughout the jacket.
In short, this feels like a parka for people who walk from the house to the car, park at work, and maybe take a 10 minute walk to lunch. It didn't strike me as a jacket designed for being out in bad weather for any extended period of time.
I returned mine and got a Patagonia Jackson Glacier Parka (almost exactly the same warmth rating according to Patagonia) which I'm satisfied with.
