My boots are size UK size 11 so I ordered XL (to fit boot size UK 10-13 according to Outdoor Research). The XL gaiters are too big for my regular 3-season walking boots, allowing water and snow in due to the air gap they leave around the boot. They were also quite large for my (very large) calves, which came as a surprise. I do like the product though, have repurposed the XL to wear with my winter climbing boots (they fit fine on those) and bought a pair of L (for UK size 8-11 boot) for my regular boots. Ideally would have had one gaiter for both pairs of boots, but it wasn't to be if I was going to stick to the Crocodiles.
