Sustainable and stylish - the Samlaren Jacket from Fjällräven!

The Samlaren collection perfectly illustrates Fjällräven's connection to nature! The word Samlaren means gatherer in Swedish. Just like the name, the collection is made of fabric leftovers, therefore working with as little resources as possible. They collected individual pieces of fabric and put them together in a colour block patchwork. The end result is truly impressive because every piece of clothing and every piece of equipment is one-of-a-kind. The identification numbers on the fabric label on the inside shows exactly this. Both designers and tailors worked together, one provided clear instruction and the other selected the fabric combinations, to ensure that each product looks great, and not just like a "patchwork quilt”. They successfully upcycled and created something fashionable!

Functional and uses great technologies

When designing the jacket, Fjällräven was inspired by their classic Greenland Jacket. They used both a durable G-1000 fabric and cotton, and equipped the jacket with a wax treatment. This combination creates a unique, windproof, water-repellent jacket in a colour block patchwork design that will keep you dry even if it’s bucketing down. Another great feature includes the front and chest pockets for stowing away your valuables.
