This is a versatile and lightweight pad that's designed to be used as both a tent carpet (fully rolled out) and a single-person sleeping mat (doubled over). It can also be used fully rolled out underneath a double-sized sleeping pad to add a bit of protection and give the r-value a slight bump. Speaking of which, the stated r-value of 1.2 is misleading as it's for when the mat is doubled over. Fully opened up as a single layer, the r-value is only 0.6.
