Product description

An extreme thermo boot for the most extreme conditions ? the Icefighter was built to endure the cold and keep feet warm down to an incredible -40 °C. This high shaft thermo boot combines the high quality, lightweight and insulating polyurethane called Elastopan with an ultra warm wool and polyester lining. Elastopan is a 100 percent PVC-free, bio-degradable material, that contains millions of tiny air bubbles and provides 2.5 times more insulation than normal PU boots, while being twice as durable. The sole is extra thick and gives great insulation and grip on ice and snow. These boots feature a Nordic cold climate last, which is wider, with more room in the toe area, since cramped feet could lead to frostbite. The Icefighter is great for snowmobiling, ice fishing, shoveling the driveway ? any activity where you encounter the deepest snow and coldest temperatures. Icefighter is approved by the TÜV Süd/Germany.

Great boots, size charts on given are incorrect

I bought these boots in size 39, as I have a 25.5cm foot. The size charts on Bergfreunde suggests a 38 for a 25.7cm foot, and a 39 for 26.4cm, so I thought sizing up by one size would be good enough. I was wrong! These boots fit very small, and I would need a size 40 (now sold out) in order for my toes to have enough space. As it is, the boots just barely fit, but my toes are pushed together.

Looking on the Viking web site, their size charts are COMPLETELY different, and I suspect, correct. Viking footwear say that the size 40 boot fit 25.7cm.

The boots are well made, heavy, warm and with the high-wear inner heel area reinforced. If they weren't a little too tight, they'd be perfect.

They're supportive and snug enough to walk long distances in them, and I hike with my dogs in winter with these on. I also farm in them, so I'm in them every day, all day.

The left boot ripped at a stretch point after a year, but since it's the first winter I've gone without chillblains, I'll overlook this. It may have been a factory fault, as the right boot is perfect. Next winter I'll go up one size.
