Product description

Perfectly suited for technical routes in steep ice, mixed terrain or dry-tooling: the Singing Rock Bandit Ice Axe. The curved shaft serves to facilitate hooking in steep ice whilst providing an optimal grip angle. The hot-forged head allows for the use of the adze/hammer and your choice of an ice or dry pick. The weight of the head is concentrated in the direction of the swing for easy penetration into hard ice. But, don't let it bite too far into the ice. It can be hard to get it out! For extreme ice climbing, the Bandit ice axe can be used without the adze or the hammer. The shape of the head is designed in such a way as to allow you to jam it into cracks when dry-tooling or mixed climbing.

The interesting thing about the Singing Rock Bandit Ice Axe is the ergonomic handle made of dual-density plastic. This serves to provide thermal insulation and plenty of grip with the proper gloves. For even more grip, Singing Rock included a removable Rhino hook for your fingers. Another interesting feature is the removable Boxer finger protector located at the bottom where a spike would normally be. This provides your fingers with additional protection when driving the axe into ice, as it works together with the curved shaft in order to create enough distance between the surface of the ice and your knuckles.

With the incredibly versatile Singing Rock Bandit, you'll be perfectly equipped for icy and not so icy winter conditions.

good for the price

my first ice tools, but have used petzl quark in the past, fairly comparable I suppose. Have used them almost exclusively on rock and they wore quite quickly but am very happy with the purchase for the price.
