50% poncho, 50% pack cover, and 50% emergency shelter, the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Nano Tarp-Poncho is 150% versatile and 200% useful. Coated in waterproof silicone and made of super-tough and incredibly light Ultra-Sil Nano nylon, it works as a poncho (with enough space to cover your pack), an emergency tarp rain shelter (guy-out points let you string it up), or even a groundsheet for your tent. Best of all, it weighs just eight ounces, so you get three dead-handy items for less than the weight of one.

Love this poncho: super light + comfortable to wear + waterproof + covers your pack when hiking in the rain. Well ventilated and roomy so you don't get hot and sweaty like in so many other outer shell garments. Quite expensive, but well worth it.

Fabrics of this type and with a low water column tend to be much much more breathable that fabrics with a much higher hydrostatic head.

The ultralight fabric has a 1,200mm hydrostatic head. Fairly normal for a poncho.
