Product description

Scarpa's Triolet GTX is not only an absolute classic, but also a dependable partner on all tours in exposed and pathless terrain. Nice finishing and numerous practical features are the highlights of this well-designed and simply functional shoe. The Pentax II XT sole by Vibram provides good footing on almost every surface. With the help of the Active Impact technology, the lavish sole construction can absorb the impact produced while walking, without energy being lost. This increases the cushioning and improves traction. To top it off, the shoe is compatible with semiautomatic crampons. The special design of the outer material combined with an ergonomically adapted shaft end not only increase wearing comfort, but also provide perfect stability and a natural heel-to-toe roll. The shoes have special foam in the ankle that adjusts to the individual shape of the foot, thus increasing comfort and grip.Whether you are on trekking tours, via ferrata or alpine tours, Scarpa's Triolet GTX is a sure bet for all sorts of sports.

Solid boots

Solid, great for rock and scrambling. Strained Achilles though after long hike - suggest some additional heel cushion if you're planning on long hikes in's / out's

best in it's category

The Scarpa Triolet GTX Winter Mountaineering Boots was my first semi-automatic crampon compatible boot and I've been recommending it to friends ever since.

I never got blisters as I read in other reviews and they also don't get water in. It is the best for Mount Olympus in Greece and maybe for higher altitudes. You won't regret it. I have a foot length of 27cm 42EU and I have bought size 46 a bit large. I ordered a 43 for my brother and it fits me tight, I think 2.5 to 3 sizes more than what the company gives you is satisfactory. For example, if with a 25.5 foot scarpa gives you 40, go to 28.5, i.e. 43 European and it will be ok with a midweight sock.
