Reviews overview
This is what other customers say:
It is the first time that I get blisters in hiking shoes (I am experienced hiker with medium width feet, exactly even left and right foot length, and very regular feet shape).
It is the first time I buy shoes from Salewa. Never had blisters before even with brand new hiking shoes or mountaineering boots on very long or multi-day hikes and never had to pay any particular attention to laces tightening or the specs of my socks.
With the Salewa mtn trainer lite GTX I got blisters on both heels after about 45 minutes on steep uphill section, I got blisters on both ring toes (top of second phalange) and I had some discomfort on both pink toes after about 2 hours on a downhill section. Shoe size was right (with additional 1-1,5 cm room in front of the big and index toes), if it was smaller it would be too small. The rubbing sensation on the heels was much more evident in steep uphill sections.
Tightening the laces solved neither the issue of heel rubbing nor the issue of rubbing on ring toes and on top of that tight laces caused discomfort because of bad blood circulation.
Positive points are traction and stability on demanding trails however those traits come second if the fit is not good and you get blisters and discomfort on three different areas of each of your feet.
In my case those shoes are the most expensive I have ever bought in my life because I must add to the purchase price of the shoes the additional cost of six plasters every time I hike in those shoes on demanding trails for more than one hour.

Hi Becky, I'm afraid Salewa are generally a little narrower. You might want to take a look at the Scarpa Zen Pro which is a comparable option with a wider fit :-) https://www.alpinetrek.co.uk/scarpa-womens-zen-pro-approach-shoes/
