I own about 6 waterproof jackets and am always looking for Mr Perfect. This Rab jacket replaced a Berghaus GR20 Storm which leaked and also did not appear to be on the market for long???. (I should say my favorite heavy waterproof is still my Berghaus Mera Peak) The Rab Kinetic has so far performed extremely well in some very testing conditions. It is light, a very comfortable fit. The hood needs some attention to get a good fit as it is designed to work with a helmet. It has kept me waterproof in very wet and windy condition. Early "Professional reviews" suggested it might not be waterproof in extreme or prolonged conditions, I would question that and say that I have been on hikes lasting 5/6 hours in continuous rain and it has performed very well. (as most people know the big mistake is to keep opening pockets or undoing zips when it is raining.) I have no negatives re this jacket.
