Product description
The Pieps Set Micro II is a full-fledged LVS set with a wide variety of functions to find buried people quickly and reliably in case of an avalanche. It’s even suitable for use as a practicing set and due to the light weight it’s perfect for ski touring and on steep terrain in particular. The components included are very modern and will be explained in detail now. An additional first-aid set with survival blanket should always be part of your equipment!

The Micro is the smallest beacon by Pieps and rests well in your hand. It can even be operated with gloves and is just as robust as it is compact. A storage bag as well as two fastenings (hand and body) are included in delivery. The Micro switches from search mode to transmitting mode by itself in case of a burial after a short time. In case an antenna is interfered with it switches to another antenna automatically as well. The beacon supports Bluetooth and can be adjusted and updated using apps and a computer. Updates, hard- and software can be checked via the self-testing function. You should also do a group check before every tour since it’s also available! The Micro searches a radius of 40 meters and works in temperatures up to -20 °C. It’s powered by an efficient AA battery (at least 200 h of service life). The IProbe automatically activates the flag function when a buried person is found (can also be done manually without a probe) by deactivating the signal shortly and looking for the next strongest signal. This saves precious time while looking for multiple buried people since you can dig on one spot and still look for further buried persons.

The probe used in this set is the Pieps IProbe II with a length of 220 cm. It’s a classic probe with electronic support. The sensor on the tip gives a visual and an acoustic signal to the top via the Kevlar-reinforced cable when it hits a buried person. In addition to that beacons that support IProbe are deactivated (flag function) so that the next strongest signal can be tracked afterwards and another buried person can be searched for while shovelling. Due to the drop function the probe is ready for use in the blink of an eye an comes with an anti-slip trim and scaling. While opening it the transmitting function is activated immediately.
The IProbe II is powered by an AA battery for about 150 hours and has five parts that can be bound together. The hit display has a range of 50 cm so that the probe has a mechanical range of 2.2 meters up to 2.7 meters.

The included Shovel C 660 is a versatile avalanche shovel which can be transformed to a pick. Its C-handle can be used with gloves and is telescopic. Stem and handle are non-slip coated and there are holes on the blade which allow for building a rescue sledge. The individual parts lock in automatically and the ovally shaped stem prevents it from twisting in your hand. Its blade is preformed and has sharpened edges on the front and tread edges on the back.
