Product description
The Mont Blanc standard route or ski touring on the Alphubel - the Irvis Flexlock by Petzl is a crampon for classic Alpine adventures. This touring crampon is a classic ten-pointer where the length of the points has been optimized for walking on snow fields and glaciers. The front points are arranged horizontally and slightly wider to provide a better load capacity on snow.
The Flexlock binding system can be combined with any mountaineering boots without a pronounced welt. The crampons length is adjustable via the center bar. The anti-balling plates help prevent dangerous snow build-up beneath the crampon.
Another practical feature: the front parts of the Petzl Irvis can be switched with front parts of the Sarken or Vasak models (the front parts are also available separately) Combining these parts is considerably cheaper than having to buy a complete set of crampons for each different activity. Have fun on the roof of Europe!

Note: although the Irvis Flexlock can be used with any boot due to its binding system, only boots with a sturdy sole should be used. If the sole is too flexible, too much strain is placed on the center bar and it may break or deform.

Despite the description stating they fit up to 50, they don't! Not only that, none of the Petzl extension bars extend to 50 as stated either! Check the Petzl website for size guide. However even they say the Flex bars are compatible. They are but are no longer than the bars that come with the crampons!
