Designed as a competition crampon - the Dartwin by Petzl is the tool of choice when it comes to extreme touring. It is most at home on mixed terrain, dry tooling and steep ice. Compare to the monopoint Petzl Dart, the Dartwin with its double front points is more of an ice crampon, while the Dart is better suited to rocky terrain.
The second pair of points supports frontal climbing, the third pair allows for hooks and tensile loads. The weight of the rear part of the crampon has been kept to a minimum. This allows you to walk safely on descents and crossings.
The Leverlock Fil binding can only be used with trekking boots with a pronounced welt on the toe and heel but is the most secure form of binding. The binding also features a safety strap in case of emergency. If youre looking for a crampon for extreme activities, look no further than the Dartwin!
Note: The crampons include an M bar which is suitable for boot sizes 34 to 44. Climbers with larger boots need the optional L bar (T20850 or T10950).
