Product description

When you have the MSR Papa Hubba NX 4-Person 3-Season Tent at your disposal, you're limited only by your imagination. And, well, probably time and money, too. You can take the family for a weekend in the woods, knowing the car stands ready should a speedy exit become vital to survival. You can take your two Huskies for a hike above the treeline and a night out when the August heat becomes oppressive. You and three photo-fiend friends can hit the dusty trails in the Winds for some late-season shooting. For a 4-person tent, this big daddy is light in your pack yet tough on the ground. This camping castle weighs just under 6 pounds on your back and offers cross-tent ventilation and protection from the weather. The ripstop nylon bathtub floor uses DWR and a 3000mm Durashield polyurethane coating to prevent precipitation from creeping in. The body of the tent uses a blend of mesh and nylon ripstop to shield your skin from nosy neighbors while letting fresh air flow. The nylon ripstop rainfly offers protection from above for when fat thunderheads burst open.Unlike other mobile homes, you access either vestibule via a side zipper, tucked neatly away underneath a gutter, on the rainfly. You are able to enter the tent without exposing your camping crew to a deluge. The off-center access also means you are able to exit and enter then tent, even when you've rolled up the edges of the vestibule and guyed them out so a refreshing breeze can cross the tent. In addition to the doors, mesh at either end of the tent provides ventilation in every direction. Even if you don't tang the air, you know one of those dogs is bound to let a silent-but-violent at some point.

Very versatile and large tent

I used this tent on a 4 month supported bike tour with my wife through South America and pitched it temperatures from -10 to 40C. It is a large tent and light for it's size. The inner tent is free standing so can be pitched inside or on hard ground which is very useful camping in towns or in buildings. It is easy to put up and one person can do it though that would be hard in a strong wind. My only 2 real complaint are that the tent pegs are light weight and are easily bent so I would buy some heavy duty tent pegs and a hammer! It adds weight but for long expeditions you will need them. Also in very high winds it's light weight construction means it does flap and move alarmingly but unless you are taking on a polar trek this is a good all round tent, well made and with lots of room.
