Product description
Everyone in your packing posse has a job: someone schleps the food, someone watches for bears, and someone humps the tent. Lucky for you, you've been assigned to tote the MSR Elixir 3 3-Person 3-Season tent. This superlight tent readily holds you and two friends, and the star-shaped skylight gives you some other than each other to stare at in the interminable hours just before dawn. So long as you're not planning an Arctic expedition, this early spring-through-late fall tent will protect you from the elements.
Rugged70D nylon on the bottom gets a shot of endurance from 3000mm polyurethane andDWR coatings. The body mixes mesh with solid fabric to keep you cool when it'swarm and warm when it's cool. Made from 68Dripstop polyester with taped seams, the DWR-treated fly lets freshair flow without sharing such freedom with the rain so you stay dry no matter what the weather. Two strong but lightaluminum poles turn this mass of fabric into a delightfully spacious mobileabode. When winds threaten to blow your tent down, firm up your foundation byusing the six (included) stakes.
Two doors and two roomy vestibules means you don't have to smell your adventureamigo's boots all night long. If you're the monkey in the middle, you only have to crawl over one person when the 15-bean chili with jalapenos you had for dinner demands a midnight potty run. Even at itsheaviest, 6lb 3oz, the Elixir 3 is still a superlight 3-person tent. Want to cutweight, but the tricks from your wrestling days no longer work? Just take thepoles, rainfly, and MSR Footprint, and now you're only toting 4lb 4oz. Color-codingon the poles, clips, and webbing makes set up a breeze, even if you're color-blind.
