Product description
From base camp to storm-battered ridges, the Mountain Hardwear Trango 3 Tent shelters the world’s best alpinists and small expedition teams. It's been around for nigh on 20 years, so you have to assume there's something pretty rad about it. Could it be the burly four-pole design (plus one vestibule pole) that makes it so appealing? Maybe. If it's not that, perhaps it's DAC Featherlight NSL aluminum poles or the waterproof PU- and silicone-coated nylon fabrics that are tough enough to stand up to a rampaging rhinoceros, as well as brutal mountain wind and snow, all while weighing just over ten pounds.Truthfully, it's probably a combination of all these things, plus a whole lot more. All the seams on the fly and floor are fully taped for superior waterproofing, and the DirectConnect guy-out points, pole clips, and zipper flaps are fully welded for extreme durability in extreme conditions. Because they could, Mountain Hardwear designed the Trango with double mesh doors for ventilation and matching vestibules to stand up to storms, and added snow flaps on the bottom of the fly to keep out whirling winds and spindrift. All the zippers are watertight as well, the fly has a window in it, and there are interior pockets to hold all your small waiting-out-the-storm gear like headlamps, books, and cards.
