Product description

The Yaru Tekno GTX by Montura ensures a safe, comfortable ascent that's just as fun as climbing itself! With its stable lasts and high shafts, the approach shoe provides ample stability, comfort, and protection on demanding terrain.

The GORE-TEX membrane provides reliable protection from the elements. Sweat is wicked away, keeping the inner climate pleasant. Another gem in its features is the high-quality Vibram Megagrip sole. With its rough profile, it has an excellent grip on muddy and slippery surfaces. Thanks to its climbing zone, simple climbing sections are easy to conquer.

The lacing has a stopper in the middle so that you don't have to re-lace after several hours. With the neat tongue design, the precise, outstanding comfort is reminiscent of a sock. Virtually everything was considered here.Whether you wear it as an approach shoe or as a hiking shoe on simple tours, the Montura Yaru Tekno GTX is sure to impress!

Very stable, 2-nd buy!

This is my second pair of Yaru gtx boots. I use them for hillwalking, in low mountains and in all weather conditions. Fit: I am flat&wide footed. The model runs narrow, so I wear them without insoles and a size larger (42 as opposed to 41 or 41.5). This gives me a snug and comfy fit. It is soft yet firm and needs no breaking-in. I never got a single blister wearing these boots. The heel brake is perfect (for me). It keeps the boot from slipping without creating the feeling of tightness. These boots will really make you feel stable. I was deciding between these and Salomon Quest. Yaru fit me better, despite being flat-footed. This might not be the case for you and Salomon obviously makes awesome shoes as well. Grip: The outsole is hard Vibram. It performs well on all surfaces (mud, stone trail, dry dirt), except on wet&smooth rocks. They can be a little slippery there, but not by much more than the alternatives. Waterproof: The shoes are waterproof by all normal standards. The insides will get wet on a full-day rainy hike or during a prolonged walk on a wet-high-grass terrain. However, this has been my experience with all light boots. Plus I keep the lacing part unprotected, which is where the water likes to slip in. Durability: The outsole of my previous pair got worn out in 2-3 years, with frequent use (1-2x daily treks plus 5x 1-3h walks per week). The insole and other surfaces remained in relatively good shape. Stars: I give them 4 stars because they are mildly slippery on wet rocks and because the outsole wore out quickly. I hope I am not being too harsh as these are great boots that can compete with the industry standard S-Quest. I bought them for a second time and I highly recommend them.

They are lightweight for easy paths

The boots are only suitable for easy walks. They run a little narrow as do all Montura boots.
