Product description
Is at home in the coldest, most extreme regions of the world - the Everest Summit GTX by Millet! The expedition boot is designed for temperatures as low as -60 °C, thus packing a thermal design comprising inner boot, Gore-Tex membrane and outer boot with gaiter. This layer principle properly protects the foot from frostbite keeps out the elements. The inner boot reflects body heat with the help of a layer of aluminum and the high-grade synthetic fiber PrimaLoft retains its outstanding thermal output even in a moist state. The thermal boot is removable, making it possible, for instance, to wear it in your sleeping bag.
The outer boot stands out with the Gore-Tex membrane, which is completely wind and waterproof, thus offering an effective shield from the elements. Simultaneously, moisture can escape outwards via the fine micropores. Extra-robust nylon makes the shoe abrasion-resistant, which is a must for the outdoors. The integrated gaiter ensures that no snow can enter the shoe. It can be tightened with a drawstring and is equipped with a zipper as well as clearly visible reflectors.
The all-terain Vibram Marmolada Light sole, which was specially designed for mountaineering, ensures good grip on slippery, icy or rocky surfaces. Its climbing zone also allows taking shorter steps on short climbing passages. The sole’s edge also makes it ideal for use with crampons. The rubber rock guard protects from damage from sharp edges, and the fiberglass and carbon midsole provides lots of stability and makes the shoe stiff but not inflexible.
Anyone aiming for the Seven Summits or setting out on a great polar adventure, will find a perfect companion in Millet’s Everest Summit GTX!
