Product description

Since its launch, the Smart belay/rappel device from Mammut has become increasingly popular. This is due in large part to its easy-to-use and almost intuitive design. Like with other belay devices, you just had to make sure your brake hand is in the right position. The Smart 2.0 is an evolution of the original. This is an extremely lightweight assisted-braking belay/rappel device with no moveable parts or levers and is suitable for top-rope climbing and belaying a lead climber.

The Smart 2.0 also offers improved braking thanks to a brake insert, which interacts with the belay carabiner and blocks the rope in the event of a fall without the belayer having to exert a lot of energy. The Smart 2.0 is tailored to the belayer's reflex movements as well, meaning the function of the device corresponds to the movements of the body in situations of sudden shock.
