This patented Mammut technology delivers exceptional power transfer from the lacing section to the sole. The concept is based on free-sliding bands that are anchored to the insole. This results in enhanced safety and freedom from blisters, since the foot cannot slip around inside the boot.
The patented Mammut sole concept with customized support and cushioning to support natural foot roll, and thus prevent fatigue (danger of twisting).
The development is based on the very successful Reptilia sole with its claws and flexible ribs. For the Iguana sole, the emphasis was also on lightness, speed and aggressiveness. The small Climbing Zone and the Stone Shield to provide protection from penetrating sharp stones indicate where these soles feel most at home: in rocky, alpine terrain.
Damping element made from two different soft materials. Thus a zone can be designed more softly and another zone more supporting depending upon need.
The stretchable GORE-TEX tongue construction eliminates annoying creases, while the wide opening makes the shoes much easier to put on and take off.
The asymmetric TPU element integrated into the sole wedge delivers maximum torsion reinforcement and supports the foot’s natural heel-to-toe, outside-to-inside rolling motion. This results in less fatigue and enhanced safety.
Zones featuring Liquid Rubber reinforcements safeguard the footwear against abrasion and damage. This rubber is applied when wet and is lighter than conventional rubber rands.
Made from injection-moulded EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), this wedge material is ultra light, damping, durable and abrasion-resistant.
The new improved version of the very successful Reptilia sole is lighter, faster and more ggressive. The lugs are arranged wider apart for efficient self cleaning. Including integrated Climbing Zone PU Shock Absorber, Stone Shield and Kevlar protection.

Really poor durability

7 months average use, mainly walking 2-3 Kms a day and the stoned got under the sole ,because it peeled off ,so it is really annoying ,they don't have solid soles but a kind off layered rubber that wore out very quickly

Disadvantages
Wear down quickly

Very good shoe !

Unlike other GTX shoes this is waterproof & warm, this is my second season and they are still performing like new. They are a little heavy compared to a summer shoe as are all GTX shoes IMO. O am inclined to buy this brand again.

Question from Nancy | Arundel
15.05.2015
What is width of shoe in centimetres pls?

Hello Nancy,

sorry, but we don't have any data for the width. But to be true, it does not make sense, cause it's unsure where to measure this. When you measure the forefeet, the heel is to narrow, and so on. But Mammut is normally made for wider and normal feet.

Bye,
Johannes
