I brought these early 2020 and they are just how remembered them. I had a previous version of the boot 30 years ago, had them for ten years and worn every day, wore out the bottoms.
These boot are a good snug fit around the foot and ankle when pulled tight, lots of room for wide feet, especially in the toe area. Waterproof and perfect for wet and soggy UK walking, the boot performance is fantastic, this is not a fashion boot. It is a long term investment in good solid outdoor footwear. I know they will last a long time, now I can get them serviced with new soles. 20 years ago, I could not. I have been through very good name walking shoes and walking boots in the last 5 years and wore them out costing far more, in total than these boots. To me, these boots represent very good value - long term, look after them and they will look after you for years.
I would recommend using the Lundhags grease to soften the leather to make them more comfortable and improve their waterproofing. The wax does not soften the leather and the leather stays a bit stiff.
I do prefer the old leather laces to the new modern normal laces.
Just wish I could get hold of the red leather pair.
