Product description
Lowa designed its Zephyr Desert Mid Boot to support your foot over dry, rugged, and unpredictable terrain. A PU Monowrap frame provides stability and and Cross rubber outsole lends traction so you can feel the trail and obtain better control over the roughest terrain in the west.
  • Split leather and Cordura upper resists water, while the mesh gusset and linings encourage lots of ventilation for 100F-plus days on the trail
  • Cross outsole features gummy rubber that's softer than typical combat boots to grip wet or dusty rocks during scrambles and hikes
  • PU midsole absorbs shock while the 3/4-length shank reduces ankle rolls when wearing a pack
  • A Climate Control footbed features 1/4-inch foam for cushioning and a breathable lining to reduce foot sweat and blisters
  • Mid-height stabilizes ankles but allows breathability during hot temperatures

Great...for a short while.

I've worn Lowa boots for a long while and never had a problem. When I bought these (for light hiking etc) I thought I'd cracked it again but after less than 6 months they've started letting in moisture in the right boot, mid-foot.

A short 5 mile hike in damp grass and my sock was soaked, which made things less than enjoyable.

I don't know whether it's a one-off or whether Lowa's quality control has got worse, but these aren't anywhere near the quality of previous pairs I've had. Such a shame (and a pain in the arse).
