Product description
Alpine climbing and via ferrata, as well as less intense high-alpine tours up to 4,000 metres - all of this is what this true all-round boot is ready to take on with its ideal combination of stability, weight and upper flexibility. Built on a special womens last, this boot combines LOWAs asymmetrical upper construction FlexFit Synchro, which allows the boot to move in tandem with the lower leg, and the LOWA Flex Technology that reduces walking discomfort during roll-through caused by stiff boot materials at the ankle and instep. The result? Perfect comfort with optimal traction and a superior feeling on the smallest of footholds. The upper is made of durable 2.4 mm suede leather. Patented, Lowa-exclusive I-Lock locking hooks supply absolutely comfortable adjustment of the two-zone lacing system. The waterproof GORE-TEX® lining provides optimal comfort. The midsole Guida Pro has a TPU climbing zone in the toe area and provides extremely high edging ability. The proven Vibram® rubber outsole Dolent offers the most secure grip and edging. This style is combination crampon-compatible.

Not a great mountaineering boot

These boots are a hybrid between real moutanineering boots (stiff) and hiking boots (soft). They have enough flex to make the walk in comfortable, and can easily be used for summer hiking. And they are rigid enough for snow walking. They have a climbing zone at the front, and are crampon compatible, which is nice. The lace up system is great too! I spent 5 days with these boots in the northern Scotland highlands, and my feet froze (although they did stay dry). These are not meant for long days in sub-zero temperatures. I knew that they were not insulated, but figured a few pairs of merino wool socks would suffice. I was very mistaken. If long days in the alpine are what you intend to do, spend the money to invest in insulated boots!
