For me finding perfect walking boots is like looking for the Holy Grail eg I find a pair that are very comfortable and then they split or leak. However the Renegade GTX have so far been outstanding as gerneral hiking /walking boots (for very tough outings I wear Hanwag Tatra II). I first tried on a pair in Switzerland and decided instantly to buy when I got home.
The boots are light, very comfortable and definitely waterproof (others have questioned this). If I was being very picky I would say that small stones jam in the tread of the sole pattern. I find my feet do not get over hot during long walks. I have two pairs which I alternate, a grey pair with green soles and a light brown pair with beige soles. They are easy to clean and maintain. I will probably invest in another pair.
Just ordered the 3rd pair, suffer from arthritis in the feet, these boots give me good support but comfortable enough to wear everyday and all day I have a dog so plenty walking everyday I would choose these boots before any other.
