Product description

Proven climbing shoes for beginners

The Women's Tarantula from La Sportiva are versatile climbing shoes, especially for beginners. Those who have just discovered climbing and bouldering do not need super-aggressive shoes, but rather shoes that forgive technical mistakes and support your feet in building up climbing strength. And the Women's Tarantula climbing shoes achieve all of that flawlessly. They are extremely tough and designed to support your foot muscles. They are most suitable for sport climbing in the hall, but you will also have a lot of fun with them while bouldering indoors.

Construction

Unlike many other entry-level models, the Women's Tarantula are a touch more aggressively designed. They boast slight asymmetry and light pre-tensioning. So if your abilities progress quickly, you can also tackle the odd more difficult project with these shoes as well. Perfect for those who mean business! On the other hand, the special FriXion Black rubber sole is relatively stiff in order to relieve your feet when climbing on the vertical.

Fit

These shoes feature a fit that is best suited to those with medium width feet. The shape of your foot is less important with these shoes. Whether you have Greek, Roman or Egyptian-shaped feet, these shoes should fit you well in the correct size.

The women's model differs slightly from the men's model in shape, but the main difference lies in the lower structural hardness. Thinner materials are used for this model, which allows the shoes to deform and adapt better to footholds despite the wearer's lower weight.

Conclusion

The Women's Tarantula are perfect for anyone who wants to start climbing. They are specially designed for feet that are not yet used to climbing on the vertical and therefore need some support. At the same time, they are so comfortable that you can even wear them during longer training sessions.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Women's climbing shoes for beginners
  • Ideal for sport climbing in the hall
  • Good support
  • Slightly more aggressive than comparable models
  • For medium width feet

I would buy this on the smaller size

Very comfortable shoe, a bit too comfortable. Unfortunately the shoe has stretched a bit too much after couple of months of regular climbing and became too loose. I can fit my 2no fingers to the back of the heel by this point of having the shoes for over a year.
My own fault for not doing research on the shoe materials though!
So if I was buying it again - I'd get a size smaller.
That's the only reason why I am giving it 3 stars and not 5.... Because they are not usable any more unless I am on easy Trad ledges and not on slabs / smearing... Or warm up routes.

Other than that - it is what's written on a tin. Versatile, comfortable, non-agressive shoe. Perfect for beginners.

Great first climbing shoe

I bought this show about a year ago when I first started climbing. It has lasted until now but is beginning to wear through.

I would highly recommend this shoe - I bought it is a size down from my street show size. It was perfect for all the indoor climbing I did and held out for a wee bit of outdoor bouldering.
