Their special design makes them particularly lightweight, so they’re ideal for via ferrata, trekking and glacier crossings. They feature an abrasion-resistant upper with a rock guard, so they’ll be optimally protected against rough contact with crags. In addition, their material is breathable, and it ensures that moisture is quickly transported to the outside. As for the sole, it perfectly balances performance and comfort and its rubber is perfect on many different types of surfaces. Plus, the sole will adapt to the rock’s surface thanks to the Impact Brake System, so secure footing on technical terrain is ensured. And, the pronounced rear sole edge allows you to attach semi-automatic crampons to the boots, which is especially practical on glacier crossings.

I had been using another brand for all my hiking boots & shoes for years, but someone convinced me to switch to La Sportiva because of their excellent anti-slip sole.
From day one, I have to say the grip is fantastic & the design is beautiful. However, I do have some difficulty tightening the boots properly & sometimes during a trek I need to tighten them again so that keep me a bit resistant (this is probably mainly due to my slim feet, but also possibly because of the number & placement of the lace eyelets).
I must especially compliment these boots for their Gore-Tex lining, it’s the best I’ve ever had. The boots kept my feet completely dry at the end of the monsoon season in Nepal & also in Cyprus where I had to cross a stream several times. On two occasions I accidentally stepped fully into the water & my feet still stayed dry!
I’ve been testing them for the last 8 months and, even with the minor issue of tightening, I would definitely choose this model again.
