The fit
I cannot wear most La Sportiva boots as my feet are too wide but the old Trango Alp GTX fit me perfectly, they appear to be built on a wider last or have a wider sole unit. Are the Evo version the same fit? Are they an upgrade of the old Trango Alp GTX or do they just share the same name. I use them for mounting walking and climbing mixed up to 4, I have Scapa Mont Blanc B3 boots for climbing as they are the widest b3 boot I can find.

I have to disagree with you here , I own the Trango cube which has the exact same sole mould . After 3 years of weekend Munro bagging I have had absolutely no sole issue, nor waterproof issues or even warmth issues , if I wanted to be very picky all I’d say is the front of the sole the rubber base has worn somewhat . An amazing boot that additionally does not need warn in.
Is it possible you have a faulty boot ? It could have slipped through quality control .
