Great fit but short lived

Great grip comes at a price, these shoes wear out very quickly.... save them for that special project not for every day at the wall.

Really good shie

It is a really good shoe. It is quite soft and like that is correctly asymmetric. The heal is very stable. It edge great on overhangs and can really feel the holds. Same fit as the otaki. A bit wider which is great but it is still very good fit

Happy to recommend it

Love with pain

I use my Skwama for a month, mostly indoor bouldering and outdoor rope climbing. My street shou size is 46 and i choose 44 from this shoe. It fits really well, but we have used to each other. After 20-30 hours of climbing, start to have more and more comforatable, the heel fits perfectly, however it press my index nail a bit...maybe it's just for my feet. I think i choose a really good shoe, and i love it!

Not just for speed climbers: climbing shoes with hook-and-loop fasteners

Hook and Loop Fastening Shoes

It’s not surprising that climbing shoes with hook-and-loop fasteners are loved by many. Since climbing shoes are so tight, it’s always great to be able to take them off whilst taking a break. If you’re not sure what size you should get, then you should definitely check out our size guide.

Advantage: hook-and-loop fasteners allow for a quick on/off

Since these climbing shoes are easy to put on and take off, your feet will hurt less after prolonged wear. Even if you’ve broken them in, it’s still nice to take them off when you’re not climbing. Plus, when you’re belaying, hook and loop shoes put weight on the soles and reduce the pretension. As a result, you’ll ultimately increase the sole’s lifespan.
In addition, the hook-and-loop fasteners offer more arch support, making them great for bouldering and technically-demanding routes.

Disadvantage: their fit is less firm

The fasteners on innovative hook and loop shoes can’t be tightened as much as laces. So, if you have an extremely difficult sport climb coming up, then you should opt for a model with laces.
