I could not recomend this jacket at all!
Worn for the third time and it rained, I was as wet inside as I was out! this was in no way testing conditions, on an archery field with my daughter, then I froze like I was in a fridge!
Very expensive item which looks good but fails to deliver. it says to use Greenland wax to increase waterproofing but I didn't want a greasy jacked for in and out of vehicle use! my recommendation , buy a Patagonia! this was purchased to replace one that was 21 years old and still worked fine.... I lost it on a trip, what a loss that has proved to be as I now need another jacket.... another Patagonia I think!

This my second Keb jacket, my first is about 2 years old and still 100%.
I chose to buy another in a larger size purely for a little extra room for use during winter,
i have used my Keb snowshoeing/touring for 4-5 days camping in -14.
And in Lapland during winter at minus 30 and it was an excellent working and touring jacket!
in summer i use it for trekking/Hiking/Mountaineering.
I especially like the Keb hood, it is like a fortress in bad/Extreme weather conditions,
The G1000 is fantastic and if you want to reinforce the waterproofing simply use the Greenland wax on the area you require, Great!
Thanks
Paul

Does the jacket become tacky when waxed and does dirt cling to the surface?
What effect on washing machine when the wax it washed off?
Hi Cairo, when waxing the polycotton material on the Keb jacket it will at first cling to the service but when heated it will melt into the material and will not become sticky in anyway. There will be no affect to your washing machine as the wax will , at a given temperature, simply wash away. Never have we come across problems with Fjallraven and washing the G-1000 material.
Not all of this jacket uses the G-1000 material so not al of the jacket needs to be waxed. Very little wax is actually required and you'll only notice a small amount of the bar wil be used. Applying the wax and melting it into the material will probably need a good half hour. How long the treatment lasts depends on things like the weather and how the jacket is used. Very difficult to say really. Remember though that the treatment does not make the material water proof, only water repellent.
