Product description

You don't get much warmer than that. The Name of the Fjällräven Polar Parka speaks for itself: It is an extremely warm lined coat made for expeditions during inhospitable conditions. The purposes of this down jacket clearly stand out. It has especially been designed for expeditions on arctic fields, ambitious mountaineering or for winter mountaineering as well as winter treks on icy fields (Scandinavian winter). Yet, there are obviously also other special purposes for the most warmest jacket on the market. These could include a winter travel to Moscow or daily work at the ski lifts in North Canada. Its extremely fluffy lining of over one pound goose down makes for the jacket to be so unbelievably warm. This insulation, with its excellent fill power and outstanding ratio of only five percent feathers (technically, it doesn't get any better, otherwise the feathers would have to be picked out by hand), means the anorak is almost like a central heating system for the body! For utilization in such extremely cold temperatures waterproof material becomes uninteresting. The impregnated, robust nylon fabric as well as the inserts in the exposed front, made of G-1000 and the sleeve cuffs provide the jacket with all necessary snow-resistant properties. At the same time they make the jacket more hard wearing without adding too much weight. The hood has a tunnel-shaped opening and a removable acrylic fur, which protects the face from icy gusts of wind. With the zip, its high collar can be opened up a little in order to add ventilation and to facilitate putting the jacket on and off. The zipper remains usable in cold conditions and features a zipper pull, which is even usable when wearing warm mittens. The hook-and-loop fastener on the cuff also maintains its adhesiveness in cold temperatures and can be adjusted when wearing thick gloves. Furthermore, the jacket features various hand pockets to store food, GPS, as well as tea. It also has a large, soft-lined Kangaroo pocket to keep cold hands pleasantly warm. The Parka goes all the way down to the hips and is adjustable by a drawstring in order to prevent wind from entering the inside. The fact that the jacket doesn't have a full-length zip improves thermal efficiency, as it allows the baffles to be quilted to prevent the formation of cold bridges.Centrally, below the zipper the jacket features a D-ring which can be used for securing (not suitable for climbing!), as well as for attaching objects with carabiners (gloves, thermos flask). There is really not much more to say about this great anorak! The Fjällräven Polar Parka is simply a down jacket of its own class!
