Product description
An unbeatable team for daring sports climbing sessions - the Jul 2 Belay Kit Steel by Edelrid! This set consists of the belay device Jul 2 as well as the carabiners HMS Bruce Steel FG. The belay device offers as strong breaking power, which provides both a dynamic and soft cushioning of any fall. It is also very easy to use and weighs next to nothing.
In addition to that you get the HMS Bruce Steel FG, a carabiner made of practically indestructible steel. It is also immune to the increased wearing that a tuber would cause. A wire bar always keeps the carabiner in place to prevent dangerous cross-loading. The Key lock won't impose itself and makes for easier handling. The Jul 2 Belay Kit Steel by Edelrid will guarantee a long lived love of climbing!

Top for top rope

I am using the Jul 2 for over a year now.
It is a solid device. It is easy to get used to it when using it for top rope climbing, and it gives some piece of mind when a less experienced person is belaying with it. However, For lead belaying I am still not comfortable with it. Feeding out rope, I feel too slow and I don't like that I have to have my thumb in the loop while doing it. I'd prefer to be able to take rope at any point in time. For this, I prefer the built of the Mammut smart - similar principle, but free thumb.
