Product description
Dynafit's TLT boots have been the monarch of the fast 'n' light backcountry masses for generations (it seems like that, anyway), but as more manufacturers churn out lightweight and highly skiable touring boots, Dynafit's had to innovate or get caught by the pack. The new TLT6 Mountain CR Ski Boot is based on the classic TLT5, but with a series of upgrades that make it stiffer and more adjustable without losing any of its mobility on the ascent.

While the TLT6 CR isn't quite as light or mobile as it's brother, the TLT6 CL, it's slightly stiffer for burlier skiing performance and features a more cushy Custom Ready heat-moldable liner that's been decked out with a little extra insulation for increased warmth. The CR features a bomber and grindable Grilamid shell and stiff Pebax cuff, but the real moneymaker is the removable Downhill Booster tongue, which adds stiffness for more downhill fun but can be easily popped off for easier ankle articulation on the ascent, if you really need it—the 60-degree rotation provided by the Ultra-Lock System 2.0 ski/hike mode is almost always enough.

The Booster tongue is just the first of the CR's fleet of adjustable features. It also sports a Driving Spoiler 2.0, which can be flipped around to provide different lean angles to best suit your stance. It also releases from the shell in hike mode and locks into place when you flip into ski mode, so you can hit the uphill and the downhill with nearly equal speed. Dynafit also decked the cuff out with an Ultra-Lock power strap that cinches down with a single pull to hug your leg, and also releases completely with the pull of a lever for super-fast transitions between ski and hike modes. On the bottom of the boot, the the short sole allows smooth and easy foot roll for easy walking, and the Claw sole is designed to stick to rocks, work perfectly with crampons, and allow for killer performance when climbing ice or mixed routes.
