GoGreen - for the environment!

GoGreen was introduced by DHL under the name "Green Package" in 2005 as a pilot project, and was the very first climate-neutral package in the world. GoGreen calculates all transport-related CO2 emissions and balances the carbon footprint with internal and external emission reduction projects. The transparency and credibility of the GoGreen initiative is verified each year by audits carried out by an external certification body.

The methodical basis for the GoGreen program at DHL consists of the triad of measuring, reducing, and balancing – both internally and externally. DHL operates an extensive Carbon Accounting System for the periodic reporting of CO2 emission values, and to offer more transparency regarding progress. Each business unit identifies a number of business-specific actions for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

For GoGreen we utilize internal and external climate protection projects of Deutsche Post World Net  to balance the CO2 emissions generated by the shipping of our goods. This climate-neutral service, which was first offered in Europe in 2006, is to be extended further in the coming years. In 2008 alone, the GoGreen shipping service was extended to include 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. dispatches all deliveries within Germany via GoGreen – and it doesn't cost our customers a single cent more. For the love of the environment!
