Product description
Now it might be time to begin with an explanation of the cryptic name CIGS. The solar cells are made from a copper indium gallium diselenide material and are processed, among other things, as part of the state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels in the Solaris Series by Brunton. But what does that mean in practice? It’s quite clear: a low weight, high energy density and an improved level of efficiency in bad light conditions. Against this backdrop, it’s intended purpose for outdoor applications can be explained.

The Solaris 24 offers, as the name already suggests, 24 Watt rated output and has two outputs: one for USB-devices, like smartphones and cameras, as well as a 18V supply for energy efficient lithium-ion rechargeable batteries or electronic tools. What’s more, the lightweight construction ensures an excellent weight ratio. Even in strong cloud and indirect sunlight, the panel produces energy and thereby exceeds the average efficiency of conventional devices requiring direct sunlight many times over. The background here is a utilisation of a broader spectrum of electromagnet radiation.

Even if individual cells and panels on the Solaris 24 become damaged and fall out, the whole panel will continue to work reliably - a huge advantage on trekking tours, long-distance trails and expeditions, where you can’t afford to make any compromises. What’s more, it’s possible to use it in rainy conditions. This is how the manufacturer Brunton delivers a thoroughly well thought out solar panels for outdoor use and users with high demands!
